Since then he has been coaching athletes of all ages to help them reach their goals and enjoys watching his daughter compete who is now in her 7th year.  Brian also helps coach Canyon High School hurdlers and believes the most important aspect of coaching young athletes is to teach them to set goals and to help them achieve what they didn’t think was possible through hard work and positive encouragement.  As a track club, he seeks to create a family environment where team mates encourage each other to work through adversity and build relationships that last a life time.

Coach Andrea Francis- Head Bantam Coach

I am a USATF Level I, working toward Level II certification. My personal running background is long distance and I began club coaching with the distance program 14 years ago. In the last ten seasons, I’ve stayed on track and focused on sprints and the biomechanics of speed development. I’ve head age-group coached gremlin and bantam athletes in regular and post seasons for six years. While operating in a team environment, I seek to provide a differentiated program providing all athletes a safe platform from which to be challenged and grow.

Coach Tiffany Contreras-  Assistant Gremlin Coach

Coach Tiffany Contreras began running while she was in junior high, a star athlete in long distance running, competing in the mile and shotput events, earning a first place gold medal. She was an inspiration to her classmates and most of all to her older sister, who outgrew her asthma and became a college competitor in the 1500 meter, running a time of 5:28 seconds. Throughout the years, Coach Contreras has continued running on her off time while also supporting her four children. Today she has decided to contribute back to the sport which has been pivotal in shaping her character as well as taught her essential lessons of leadership, sacrifice and dedication.

Coach Candice Panierello- Assistant Intermediate, Youth, Midget & Hurdles

I'm a mother of three and as most mother's we tend to chase our children's passion with them. We've always been an active family involved in sports alongside our children. Our love for track started with our middle son wanting to improve his endurance in soccer. We enjoyed the excitement of the races and field events from the beginning. My husband began coaching our son to improve his times and his hurdle form. The further our son succeeded the more involved we got! We've been a track family for 9 years strong. My husband and I began coaching hurdles together in 2012 for the CTC Hawks in Canyon Country. I have attended several LA84 clinics over the years and studied along side of my husband Brian to learn the drills, exercises and techniques necessary to assist young hurdlers to succeed.

Coach Jason Bachiero- Assistant Distance Coach

Jason was an active parent in the inaugural season of the Flying Phoenix cross country team and is now helping as an assistant coach with the distant athletes. Jason was active in school sports playing football and soccer. He took up running 10 years ago and distance/trail running is one of his passions. He has completed several marathon and ultra-marathon distance races. Jason’s son competed with the cross country team and both his son and daughter will be competing in the track season. Jason has several seasons of coaching experience while both his children played soccer. He was an active part of the AYSO community, helping with not only coaching regular season and all-star season teams, but also fulfilling refereeing and field preparation duties. Jason’s passion for running along with his youth coaching experience should be a benefit for all the kids’ running track this season. He looks forward to an exciting track season with the Flying Phoenix. Rise Up!

Coach Sandra Orozco - Assistant Bantams and Distance.
I worked closely with the Head Distance Coach  to support athletes during practice by preparing them with workouts, developing strength and conditioning for meets. My philosophy is to help motivate and encourage athletes on performance and self esteem with a healthy mind as they are our future. I am a mother of two, whom likes running and working with kids of all group ages. I started developing a close interest in the sport when my oldest son ran distance at Canyon High School Varsity Team. He received multiples medals, and made  that my inspiration to keep up with the sport and contribute to the community by participating in athletes running club. I started as a  volunteer with the athletic program and soon right after an assistant coach when my daughter joined  Track & Field as a  Gremlin at the age of five years old and currently a Midget with Flying Phoenix Track & Field Club.
